Tricia Duffy Vitrano is from Ballybay, Ireland, a small town nestled between rolling green hills and bogs the color of Guinness. This Pagan and Celtic land is where her deep passion of art began. A constant and curious traveller, she moved to London, then the USA where she pursued her BA and MFA at the University of New Orleans – a city that continues to feed her soul and passion for painting and sculpture. Tricia currently resides in the foothills of Boulder and is an active member in our local art scene.

Inspired by her daughter’s early childhood drawing, Tricia created NancySin, an empowerment character with a very large head and a tiny body. All brains, big eyes, heart and red boots, NancySin manifests herself in paintings and sculptures to fight for justice, equality and the environment. The latest series of paintings are focused on deconstructing the character of NancySin and using her shape in various abstract forms to convey her message. These works of art are on exhibit at Bolder Colours from February 1 – February 28. Address: 2015 15th Street, downtown Boulder.
