Sara Slocum

I make art inspired by nature and the things I love to do, especially being outside. Lately, I’ve been working mostly in watercolor, but I also enjoy using mixed media and digital tools. A lot of my recent pieces come from photos and plein air sessions in Crested Butte, where the mountains and light are a huge inspiration for me. I try to capture the feeling of the moment—the way the light hits the mountains and the colors shift in the sky and landscape. Watercolor helps me explore that softness and movement. My goal is to share how I see the world when I’m out there, surrounded by the things that make me feel the most alive. I have a background as a game artist and children’s picture book illustrator. I love character design and would describe my illustrations as fun colorful and stylized.
