Sara is a Boulder-based interdisciplinary artist, arts administrator, and owner of Wandering Maranta, LLC. Inspired by her love of bold colors and the natural world, Sara creates intricate macrame wall decor and plant hangers, dabbles in stained glass, and recently began exploring the world of wheel-thrown ceramics. The vision behind Wandering Maranta is to bring more color, nature, and joy into people’s homes.

She currently works as the Development Manager for the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and has a passion for supporting other artists, museums and arts nonprofits. Sara has her Bachelors in Art & Design from Towson University as well as a Masters in Museum Studies and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Johns Hopkins University. Before relocating to Boulder, Sara worked as an art educator and administrator for the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, and continues to be inspired by outsider artists and unconventional materials.
