Carlye Calvin

I spent close to 30 years as photographer for the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). I was fortunate enough to be sent all over the world on field projects documenting the scientific research and field sites of the scientists from NCAR. Storm chasing was also part of my duties as staff photographer. I gained a reputation as the “cloud lady”, partly because of the issuance of a US postage stamp featuring one of my lenticular cloud photos, but also because of my passion for photographing severe weather. Now that I am retired I am enjoying exploring the world with my camera usually with a thematic approach whether it be about faces, or finding letters in objects, or even just unusual perspectives.
