I’m an abstract painter working in both oil and acrylic, often using cold wax and R&F pigment sticks for their spontaneity, versatility, and the deep, pigmented color they allow. I’ve been painting for thirty years, lived in France for 28 years and studied there for ten of those years. My approach is grounded in subtle layering and mark making and color, I’m color obsessed and color inspired. Have just moved to Boulder County and excited to see what inspiration will occur here. Right now I’m focused on this series called Held in the Balance:

This series moves through space, atmosphere, and layered emotion—much like the terrain of my own life. The palette is often soft, interrupted by jolts of intensity, like moments of clarity or disruption. My mark-making reflects that same duality: a push and pull between reflection and motion, vulnerability and strength.

Each piece is a kind of tightrope walk—teetering between collapse and control, uncertainty and trust. There are recurring characters, familiar tensions, and symbolic threads that resurface, almost like archetypes—reminders that while the path is rarely steady, it is still beautifully alive.

Held in the Balance is my way of capturing that suspended state: precarious, resilient, and quietly hopeful.
