SMiLE “To The Moon” Exhibition at The Bus Stop Gallery

The NoBo Art District is excited to announce the return of iconic street artist SMiLE with a new solo exhibition at the Bus Stop Gallery, on view from September 5 through 27, 2025.

In this eagerly anticipated new series, SMiLE returns with thirty fresh original works that continue to fuse energetic street art aesthetics with themes of urban life, animals, and human connection. Though his identity remains a mystery, his bold canvases command attention and community engagement.

“Love you to the moon and back again is a phrase from my childhood that has stuck with me throughout life and is a colloquial term expressing how I feel about the city of Boulder. Having a sense of community is essential and yet it’s a bit of a brass ring to reach for in our day and age. Whether it is a midsummer nights Band On the Bricks on the Pearl Street Mall; a snowy moonlight hike to the Red Rocks above Settlers Park; a rainy spring morning at the Farmers Market by the bandshell or hearing the whisper of a concert at Folsom Field reverberate through the streets of downtown, these are experiences we all share together and that unite us as themes in our conversation and our passions. And I strive to make SMiLE one of those themes that unite us. My art has taken me through a diverse array of experiences that I did not anticipate but have been thrilled at nonetheless… yet always there at the heart of why I do this is the city that I love. To the moon.”
