Boulder, CO – May 15, 2023 – The NoBo Bustop Gallery is set to kick off Pride Month with the debut
of /Imagine Love, an art exhibit showcasing the vibrant and inclusive work of artist Koko
Bayer. The exhibit, located in Boulder’s NoBo Art District, opens on June 2nd with a reception
from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., featuring a set by DJ Paul Andre.
Koko Bayer, the creative force behind the Rainbow Heart Project and Project Spread Hope,
responded to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic with murals featuring hearts inscribed
with the words “Hope” and “Love.” Since their inception, hundreds of these murals have been
installed in public spaces, such as schools, hospitals, and shelters, serving as a reminder of
hope and the enduring need for love, even in the darkest of times.
Bayer’s work extends to aiding communities in healing after natural disasters and mass
shootings. In December, she installed #MIA1, a 24×32 foot Rainbow Love mural dedicated to
the victims of the Club Q mass shooting as part of the Wynwood Mural Fest during Art Basel
Miami. Her 2023 installations have ranged from billboards in a prairie dog town in Louisville,
Colorado, to a multi-wall activation in London.
/Imagine Love will feature a Rainbow Heart Project mural and new editions of Bayer’s hand-folded shadow box prints and multiples.
