Going Beyond – Artmakers 10 Boulder

“Going Beyond” in vision and action is what is needed to begin to unknot the tangle of troubles our 21st century is faced with. For this exhibition each of us will:
- Go beyond anything we have ever done before.
- Go beyond what we feel ourselves capable of doing.
- Go deeper into our creative cores while simultaneously staying engaged and aware of the world around us.
This process might include using materials in a new way, trying new techniques, exploring complex and challenging ideas, proposing new viewpoints or collaborating with other artists on a topic or idea.
About Artmakers 10 Boulder:
ARTMAKERS10BOULDER (formerly artsproject101) is a collective of 11 visual artists who have been working together since 2018. Our intention as a group is to foster creativity and encourage the exchange of ideas that spark the imagination.

JULIA BRY SCHWAB
Julia has worked for over 40 years in the fields of education, art and art therapy. ”My underlying motif has been creative play with art materials…the more one creates, the more energy and enthusiasm one has to create.”
Julia works with paint and multi-media.
PATTY ANGERER
“The more I paint, the more I realize that what I ‘see’ does not give me nearly the pleasure that recording my response give me”.
Patty works in paint and mixed media.
NANCY PORTEOUS JOHNSON
“Wherever the human eye can reach there are patterns to paint—patterns that spark the imagination”.
Nancy is a painter.
MOLLY MOHSENI
“If we break down seeing to what is happening physiologically and don’t listen to our brains making sense of it, amazing insights can transpire.”
Molly paints and creates monotypes.
CYNTHIA PEACOCK
“Fine art painting, for me, draws upon all my past experiences and emotions, and I am most interested in exploring my environment and learning to deeply ‘see’ and ‘feel’.
Cynthia has had a long career in design and is now also painting.
HANNAH SHOOK
Having been described as a “ferocious painter”, Hannah has always sought to express the almost uncontainable “life force” that she experiences in nature.
Hannah constantly experiments with impasto paint and other media.
