Nate Harris is a metal sculptor who creates artworks from copper and steel. He is inspired by nature: flowers, plants, birds, and bugs in the spring and summer, and burnt tree stumps, cliff faces, snow drifts, and mountains in the fall and winter. Recently he has been using chasing, repoussé, and uchidashi to create both low and high relief sculptures from copper sheet. His larger works often include propane flame, which gathers people together, warms them, and creates opportunities for connection and conversation. He is a self-taught artist, who started making metal art after being amazed by the installations at Burning Man.
