Andra is a retired psychotherapist living in Boulder, Colorado. She uses words, textiles, and paper to create images that excite and inspire the imagination.

Inspired by the textile mavericks of the 1960s, and contemporary textile sculptors such as Betty Busby and Susan Else, Andra creates three-dimensional fabric forms often based on nature scenes. She also has been composing art quilts since the publication of Rayna Gilman’s book, Create Your Own Free-Form Quilts (2011, C&T Publishing).

Andra is the author of “Dimensional Cloth: Sculpture by Contemporary Textile Artists” (Schiffer 2018); “How Art Heals: Exploring Your Deep Feelings with Collage” (Schiffer 2021); and “Japanese Paper Art” (in press, Fall 2024)
