I am a passionate astro-photographer, specializing in taking original long exposure images of deep-sky objects such as galaxies, nebula, and star clusters. The process includes imaging through telescopes and monochromatic CCD cameras specially designed for astronomy. Most photos are taken from my home in the mountains near Boulder, Colorado. The total exposure time varies from 10 hours up to 30 hours depending on the brightness of the subject and filters used.
The camera and telescope track the sky for hours (often over multiple nights) by using an astronomical mount, specialized software and tracking calibration required before each evening. Each of these original and unique mages is preserved on metal, by infusing dyes directly onto specially coated aluminum sheets by a professional lab.
