Call to Artists

The construction “ArtFence” at the old Bus Stop Site, along the west side of Broadway between Front Range Blvd and the south edge of Emerald City, will be created by the NoBo Art District with the theme of #nobofacesproject.

The intention is to bring various local artists’ work into a colorful linear collage, made up of 6’ x 6’ or longer panels, to bring some excitement to the site, announce the new housing project, and to celebrate the NoBo community. The juried work will be added to a mix of photographs from the Bus Stop event of September 29th and some images of the future housing and community arts construction project.

The theme of “Faces” can be translated by each artist. Colorful, eye popping large scale images that will translate well in a large format along the roadway and sidewalk are desirable. Artists may submit up to 5 jpg files, no larger than 2 MB each. All work must be digitally sent to the subcommittee with a large, high resolution copy available for printing, if selected. Original work may have been created traditionally or digitally, as long as the digital format is available for use.

There will be some reworking of the artists’ images as the “collage” of images are laid out graphically to be included in 6’x15’ banners. If you are against the possible saturating of your colors, or other manipulations that may occur, please do not enter the image.

Credits will be given on the NoBo website for all artists that have work in the final piece.

See the attached images as an example of what the “collage” may look like. The artwork in this image includes some of the art from Denver’s Crush artists in RiNo and other sources.
